This self-taught artist was born in Johor in 1944. As a full-time artist, he draws much of his interest in Malaysian landscape and buildings from his childhood experiences. He had participated in various exhibitions since 1966.
"My works are either produced from direct observations or photographs," he said.
Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim in Johor Bahru was built in 1940, by local craftsmen under the supervision of a European architect. The building blends the cosmopolitan architecture of Renaissance style, with an overlay of Anglo-Malay influence. Today, the massive building houses the State Secretariat, as well as various departments in the Johor State Government.
